Win Zaw has more than 20 years of experience in social and market research in Myanmar.
He completed an Executive Master’s degree in Public Administration from Yangon University of Economics in 2018. He has also acquired a Diploma in Research Studies from the same University in 2014.
He completed his bachelor’s degree in Botany from the University of Yangon in 2002.
He worked at Compass Research for 8 years from 2000 - 2008 as the start of his research profession. He then worked as an independent consultant after that, running social and market research projects in many sectors including program evaluation with local and international NGOs. He has conducted research tackling on; ECCD, Monastic Education, Agriculture, Construction, FMCG products, Beverage, Automobile and Financial services. He is experienced in moderating and running several Focus Group Discussions (FGDs).
Over the years Win Zaw has acquired broad skills in project management, research design and development, KAP studies, program evaluations, moderation and training. He worked at RiverOrchid Insight in 2013 as Research Manager. He rejoined his colleagues at Compass Research then TNS Myanmar from 2014 to 2017 where he handled FMCG, personal care, HHC and other qualitative projects. Unilever, Coca Cola, Diageo, Kirin, Hyundai, Puma, MPT, UNDP, ActionAid and PSI etc. were his previous clients.

Statistician by discipline, Ramon is a professional researcher and consultant with over 15 years of experience in conducting marketing, opinion polling, media, socio-cultural and multi country studies, political, program assessment and impact evaluation research of development projects in Southeast Asian region, specifically in the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar.
In the field of social research, Ramon has worked with international NGOs and research Organizations including; WHO, The EU, USAID, The Asia Foundation, Asian Development Bank and the World Bank, and Gallup and IPSOS to name a few.
For these organizations, he has handled qualitative and quantitative research projects in the region tackling on the Development of Local Monitoring System on the Millennium Development Goal No.5 and Target 7 (Improved Maternal Health, HIV and Malaria), Women’s Health and Safe Motherhood Baseline Data Collection Project, Pilot Impact Evaluations on Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Project (Conditional Cash Transfer Project), and Consumer Coping Behavior Projects, Occupational Safety and Health among Young workers in Myanmar, Resiliency in Myanmar, Financial Inclusion among Myanmar, Media Audit among program Beneficiaries in Laos and Road safety in Cambodia, and, The Gallup World Poll.
While living in all three countries in the region, he has acquired knowledge and is abreast with local nuances and challenges in directing various research projects by travelling to the field both in urban and rural areas. Ramon has mastered his skill in moderating big groups of at least 25 participants for various social research projects employing the TOP® Method.
